On December 2, 2016, over 300 SCI-Flint Chapter members including guests gathered together at Davison Country Club to celebrate the Christmas Season. The Annual Christmas Party was once again a huge success because so many members took time from their busy schedules to celebrate another successful year of hunting and friendship.
The festivities began at 6:00pm with cocktails, appetizers and the silent auction. A fabulous buffet dinner of prime rib, baby back ribs, chicken, vegetables, salad, rolls and dessert.
Presentations were made to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, Bill Kerr, CEO of the Food Bank shared how important the $1,000 donation and the venison donations are to the people in our area. Captain Caleb Senn, Regional Coordinator of The Salvation Army serving Genesee County accepted the $3,000 donation for the water crisis which was raised at our Annual Fundraiser Dinner. JR Wetlands (Josh White) donated an auction item in honor of his son Jason White and all proceeds were to be given to The Salvation Army. Special “Thanks” to both organizations for the great work they do in our community!
The 2016 AWLS teachers provided an excellent presentation of the week spent in Jackson Hole, Wyoming attending the AWLS Camp. This program provides the opportunity to learn more about the areas of animal management and other outdoor activities. Taking these important lessons and sharing with their students truly continues the passion of conservation and the role hunting plays in caring for the environment.
Many members and guests participated in our reverse bingo, raffles and silent auction. Great guns, auction items and cash guaranteed a very merry Christmas to all. These opportunities help support our projects with youth, veterans and Wish hunts. Thank you for making this Christmas Party a wonderful way to commemorate another year together! Blessings for a prosperous 2017!
